CZ P10 Shipment Arrives
24 May 2018

Just over a year ago the first CZ P10 arrived on South African shores amidst a flurry of excitement. The new striker-fired polymer frame addition to the CZ handgun family turned out to truly be a cat amongst the other striker-fired polymer pistol pigeons. Several shooters who swore by the best-known handgun brand in this category immediately put in orders for a P10 once they had the opportunity to test fire the new pistol.

For readers who didn’t have an opportunity to look at the original article, here is a quick recap on the reason for the CZ P10 hype . . . .

The Glock 19 is currently one of the most popular pistols in the world, and CZ decided to tackle the market leader head-on with the P10. In order to do this CZ decided to retain sensible commonalities and bring marked improvements where these were possible.

The size and weight comparison between the Glock 19 and CZ P10 is so close as to be almost negligible and field stripping procedures are identical. The P10’s trigger guard is also shaped the same as the Glock 19 to allow immediate compatibility between the P10 and retention holsters designed for the Glock 19.

The CZ P10’s trigger has received rave reviews from those who have shot it. As one American reviewer wrote: “The P-10 C’s trigger is a recipe for success. Keep much of the Glock’s creep but polish it smooth, drop the pull weight down to four-ish pounds, tweak the break so it’s cleaner and less “springy,” and include a fantastic reset that’s tactile, audible, and really short. This is a trigger that begs to be shot fast.”

The P10 ergonomics are also excellent with its natural pointability, light palmswells and a curved backstrap (with three different size options) receiving accolades. The sights are steel ones of the three-dot kind with glow in the dark ability, and the P10 uses the same dovetail sights used on the CZ Shadow 2 competition pistol to enable easy sight upgrades later on.

The P10 features a unique ambidextrous slide stop that could be of considerable value to left-handed shooters.

Accuracy reviews showed groups of less than 1 inch at 25 yards – very impressive for a compact pistol with a short barrel of 4,02 inches.

The CZ P10 comes standard with a lockable plastic box containing:
- small, medium, and large backstraps
- two 15-round magazines
- cleaning brush and rod,
- factory test target,
- cable gun lock,
- owner’s manual

Up until now there has been some frustration amongst local shooters keen to buy a P10 due to scarcity – massive demand in the USA for the P10 and CZ’s production capacity limitations meant buyers had to be patient.

The good news is that a shipment of CZ P10’s has just arrived in South Africa, and given demand up until now this batch will go quickly. Suggested retail price is in the region of around R11,500.

A special offer however applies to the first ten Pot-Shot readers who call Jan Lubbe at Sons Of Guns in Parys. Jan has agreed to give these lucky buyers the deal of the year on a CZ P10 and he can be reached on 082 421 1122 for more details.
